The R.O.W Initiative (Reflections of War) is an anthropological NGO that has a mission of establishing a philanthropic wing for the victims of human conflict. Throughout our history, we have seen various conflicts and the catastrophic and devastating effects it has had on the surrounding populations, both past, present, and future. We plan on leading expeditionary field teams around the globe to complete several tasks: excavate or examine the victims of war, identify the individuals, their wounds of infliction and causes of death, and to create reflections through drawings of their traumatic experiences to show the world just how we’ve become so distant or desensitized from these conflicts. The central focus of this non-government organization is to reveal to viewers how powerful and devastating war can be, and to show that all life on this earth is precious.
For several millennia our species has been involved in violent conflicts globally. While we have taken measures in avoiding wars through treaties and/or organizations like the UN, we still haven’t realized the value of true human life; that all life is equal and all people have the right to feel safe, that no one is above anyone else. Everyone deserves to have their missing loved one's remains retrieved and identified. Every child and teenager who escapes conflict into a refugee camp should have an acceptable quality of life in those camps. Our philanthropy pledges to establish a better life for the victims of war at home and abroad and to show the true violent nature of human conflicts so that one day we may not repeat the mistakes of our past. For "those who do not learn history are doomed to repeat it."- George Santayana
They say that history has always been written by the victors. This time, history will be written by the victims.
